Juvenile T&F RESULTS 2015 Please let Mary know if there are any corrections

Last weekend Catherine Mc Manus continued her return to race fitness after her knee injury when she ran a seasons best for the 100m in Belgium.

Best of luck this weekend to Pierre, Cliona, Alison Armstrong, Chloe Corcoran and Muireann Mc Ginley at the All Ireland schools in Tullamore this Saturday.

Reminder that Bloom is on this weekend and traffic on Thursday night will be busy on Blackhorse Ave. If within walking distance this is the night to walk or cycle to training and drivers may need to park a bit away and walk up. Dig out rain jackets for the next few days

Entries for the Dublin Championships will be up on this site in a day or two.

We had a gang of our primary school athletes in action in Santry today (Monday). Our gold medal winners were Aoibh Collins ( 600m), Julianne Rodrigo (600m), silver medals for Alex Corr (600m) and a bronze medal for Clare O’ Connor in the high jump. Just missing out on medals was Sean Donoghue 4th in his 600m, Clare Murphy James McManus and Anna Petit all ran great but just ran out of legs near the end but both have missed some training due to illness and injury. Others who competed today for their schools were, Katie Harrold, Celine Gavin, Lia Butler Lynch and Felix Moloney Daly. Well done to everyone.

League 4 was held in glorious conditions in Santry on Saturday. Standout performances on the day from Chloe Corcoran, Alison Burke, Sean Donoghue and Dora Medgyesy. Overall we have had a poor turnout for the four league events, with mostly the same athletes there each week. Some may have had genuine reasons for missing out but its a pity so many did.  We are an athletic club, we expect our athletes to represent the club at whatever level. Learning to compete and getting out of your comfort zone is an important life skill which cant be underestimated. During the four weeks we have discovered previously unknown talents that we wouldnt have known about without these low key events. Well done to all the athletes who made the effort to take part, each week you could see the confidence levels growing which was great to see. We have a two week break from competition now and the next events will be the Dublin championship on the weekend of the 5th of June , Community games the following weekend. Details later.
