Sun 15th Sept First races of the season for all the little ones. See separate post for details. Everyone born in 1999 and younger should try to get there. These are low key races and give us an idea how the kids are going when we have to pick teams for the championship races later on.

Dublin Cross Country Leagues are Back!

You’ll all be delighted to know that the Cross Country season is on the way back woohooo!

Our first race of the season is on Sunday 15th of September in Ardgillan Park, Skerries. See Maps of Ardgillan Cross Country League 1 2013 for the map of the course and details.

Also here’s a bit of info about Ardgillan Park if anyone wants to make a day of it, looks like a lovely oul spot!

First race back is always a bit of fun and nothing to be nervous about! Its a fun day out (and a new park too we havent run there before) and rumour has it the playground fairly decent aswell! 😉

Everyone up to age 14 expected to represent the club. Sure what else would ya be doing on a Sunday morning!

As usual bring sun gear, rain gear and spare everything – you don’t want to be stuck in the car coming home like this lot!

Training Details Week beginning Sat 31st Aug

Sat 31st Aug Trip to Curracloe. Leaving the Breffini Inn at 8.30 sharp. Bring training gear, swimming gear. breakfast cereal, wet suit if you have one, towel, goodies (no shop nearby). All school home work to be done Friday night as you will be too tired to do any on Sunday night.

Everyone needs to get long spikes into their racing shoes for the cross country season. Spikes are on sale in Runway in Parnell st and the new sports shop beside Superquinn in Ashtown. Dig out the high viz tops as the evenings are going to close in very soon.

Back to training!

General training for all age groups starts back this Saturday 24th Aug meeting 10.30 at the Hole in the Wall. Any athlete at primary school needs to run 3 days a week to progress if they dont do another activity that gets their heartbeat up, 1st or 2nd year in secondary need 3/4 days a week depending on how active they are otherwise, older athletes need 4 plus d ays depending on other activities. with this in mind and in particular in the case of the younger groups come on Saturday if you cant do Sunday. First race of the crosscountry leagues will be SUNDAY 15th September at Newbridge House in Donabate
