This is for easy running, just getting back into it. Anyone over 12 should be able to keep up. Formal training will start back last week in August-watch this space.
We need to be there on Saturday at 10.30 to see what we have to do and to set up a system. Bring lunch as we dont know what the food situation is. We will be there till 5.30. On Sunday we need to be there for 11 till 5.30. Pool lifts if possible and get together in groups if travelling by bus.
This Monday the half marathon will take place starting in the city center. We have been asked to look after the 2 water stations in the Park. Unfortunately its a very early start and we have to be in place around 7am to set up. Waterstation number 1 will be at the entrance to the Zoo car park on the the main road and you can park cars at the zoo car park.
Number 2 waterstation will be on the city side of Mountjoy roundabout on the main road. Ashtown Gate will be open so drivers should go in Ashtown gate, go to the roundabout and park on main road going towards Castleknock gate.
We know its a bank holiday and its a big ask but try and bring some friends or neighbours with you. You might lose them after but run the risk anyway!
A big well done to Catherine McManus and Niamh Donnelly who competed at the National Seniors in Santry on Sunday.
Niamh placed 12th in the 1500m in a time of 4:55.52 in very wet conditions after only running a great personal best on Wednesday leading the race gun to tape in Tallaght.
Catherine placed 4th in a very tough 100m final in the lashing rain – just 0.02 seconds of 3rd place! So close, but a great end to the season for Catherine who struggled with injury for a number of months and managed to make a strong comeback!
Also a HUGE thank you and well done to our basket carriers who were so professional and carried out their jobs even when they were getting lashed on! We definitely have the best basket carriers in the business!

All the athletes who are helping out at the Nationals this weekend need to be in Santry at 12 noon on Sat. You may need to pack a rainjacket.
Best of luck to Steffi (200m on Saturday), Catherine (100m), Niamh Donnelly (1500m on Sunday). Highlights will be shown on rte on Monday night at 8.15.
For any parents of the younger athletes Aldi have high viz rainjackets and water proof trousers for sale at the moment.
