Weekend Results

In Tullamore on Saturday we had Cliona Carthy, Alison Armstrong and Pierre in action at the Irish Schools championships. The two girls were first into action in the inter steeplechase. Cliona came through strongly to finish in a fine 3rd place with Alison also having a fine run finishing a close 4th. This was a great result for both girls who have only recently taken up the event and many thanks to Tony for his coaching.

The inter boys 1500m was a tactical race with nobody prepared to take on the early pace, lots of boxing in and little trips going on. Pierre was in the thick of it all the way through and when the big sprint for home started he just couldn’t close up on the third runner but a good race from him all round.
In Geneva Steffi Creaner ran a personal best in the 200m and Catherine Mc Manus continued her comeback after injury with a very good 100m where she made it to the final. Well done to all. Link here to some videos of Steffi- Heat 2 200m and Catherine Heat 3 100m.
