We had a mixed weekend at the Nationals in Santry. On Saturday Steffi Creaner had a great run to finish 3rd in the womens 200m but on Sunday Steffi was very unlucky to pull a hamstring in the heat of the 100m. Catherine Mc Manus dearly wanted to compete in the 100m but she too was having hamstring problems and was advised not to risk racing. Hard luck on both girls. Otherwise we had a group of helpers out there for the weekend doing the baskets at the start lines and we had Celine, Sara Byrne. and Sara Dwyer and Ciara Hanley doing a great job at the presentations. Well done and thank you to all.

Trip To Curracloe

We are in the process of organising our annual beach trip. The date will be Sat September 1st leaving the Breffini Inn about 8.30 in the morning and returning on Sunday 2nd September around 6pm. Anyone born in the year 2000 or before will be able to come this year. the cost will be 25 euro. We will have an application form on the website by next weekend.

National Junior/ Under 23 in Tullamore
On Sunday Steffi Creaner won the womens 200m in a new personal best time off 24.22. She also finished 2nd in the 100m in a personal best of 12.03secs. Catherine Conroy competed in the 400m but didnt progress to the final.

Donore Harriers Competition -Thursday night
All the smallies are expected to compete in the above competition. Programmes will be handed out at training during the week. This is a great opportunity for some of our new athletes to have a go at racing.

Under 14 relays in Tallaght

Well done to our super under 14 boys relay team on a great win in the Dublin relay championships on Friday night. the team of James , Jamie, Conall and Finn did us proud on a first relay gold for a boys team from the club. The girls under 14 finished 5th in their final but with two of the girls running up an age group a medal would have been a big ask. Well done to all.

The club had 4 athletes in action at the Dublin Graded meet for senior athletes on Wednesday 20th June. First off was Danny Byrne-Crowley in the 200m, a new event for Danny. He ran very well finishing 2nd in the C race. Clare Brennan returned to competition after a long battle with breathing issues and competed very well in the B 1500m finishing just behind Sinead Cronin. The both ran decent times comsidering that the first half was very slow. Ritchie Lombard also was getting back to competition after a long lay off and although a little race rusty he was happy with his result.
