Spar Great Ireland Run

Reminder
Just a reminder to everyone to keep free, Sunday 15th April for the Spar Great Ireland Run. This is our major fund raiser for the  year and is the sole reason that we don’t have to sell tickets, pack bags or do any of the other fund raising events most clubs have to do.   We will need parents, older siblings , aunties, uncles, grannies, grandads, neighbours or anyone who is available to help out on the day. Over the next week or so we will be contacting adults about marshaling at key junctions etc. Any of the younger athletes who have got entry forms already in the post for the Junior race are to return them to Mary with our special rate of €5  entry fee, asap. We will have entry forms at training next week.

Results of Dublin Indoors 1500m, Tallaght

Good Results for our Club
Last Friday night in perfect conditions at Tallaght Stadium the Dublin Indoor 1500m championships were held. First off we had Alison Armstrong in the under 16 girls event where she finished 2nd in the race but first in the championship as the winner was a guest. Pierre was next off in the under 16 boys and he also finished 2nd to a guest runner but was really pleased to be feeling much better after his recent flu.  Cliona Carthy and Cliona Murphy both ran really well to finish 1st and 2nd in the under 17 girls race and Olwyn Kennedy was an impressive looking winner of the under 19 girls. Well done to all.
Best wishes to all our younger athletes in action at the Primary schools races in the Bogies on Wednesday.
