Day One

Eight Celtic athletes made the trip to Belfast today to compete as guests in the Northern Ireland age group championships in the Odyssey. Everyone enjoyed the day and really enjoyed running and jumping in a beautiful warm stadium. Ciara Hanley was first off and she came 3rd in her heat of the 60m, Eric Duffy was 5th in his heat of the 60m sprint. In the 800m Aoife Corr and Ellen Byrne were both impressive winners of their heats but all the medals went to the runners in the first heat. The girls were 5th and 6th overall. Results were decided on overall times. In the boys 800m Conall Regan finished just a second faster than Jamie Kennedy, James Scanlon  and Luke Hanway our next to finish. Michael Hanley ran very well in his heat of the 800m.  Finn Burke -Power was having his first outing over the 60m hurdles and did really well to make the final finishing a fine 4th. The Lads ran in the relay as guests and finished 2nd in their heat.  Day 2 will be updated tomorrow.
