A wild windy Leixlip track greeted the athletes at the Le cheile event this afternoon.Pierre was first into action and he won his 3000m race impressively in a time just outside his seasons best which was very good in the conditions.
Catherine McManus came a very good 3rd in the 400m just marginally outside her pb.
Aoife ni Bhroin, Clare Brennan and Niamh Donnelly all fought hard in the 800 and 1500s but were really up against it with the gales. Well done everyone.

Sat 15th July, no training today due to helping out at road race in Phoenix Park.

We need a gang to help at a road race on Saturday morning in the Phoenix Park. Meet at usual place on main road at 8.30.Bring the cousins!

A beautiful summer evening greeted all the athletes in Santry on Wednesday. Our young athletes really enjoyed the 16 X 100m relay finishing 5th out of 10 teams. In the main programme Daire Finn had his first competitive outing over a mile when he finished 4th in the junior mile race.
Niamh Donnelly notched up another pb with a great run in the 800m. Catherine McManus finished 5th in the 200m.

Short journey, lovely evening promised, great live athletics! What’s not to like? Please support Niamh in the 800, Daire in junior mile and Catherine in the 200 at Morton international in Santry tonight. Programme starts at 6.

All relay runners are to be in Santry (clonliffe Harriers gate) for 5.30. Wear club singlets and bring a warm hoodie if staying to watch senior races later.
