Graded 3 Irishtown

We had a group of our senior women running on Wednesday night at graded 3 Irishtown. Unusually for Irishtown it was calm an warm, perfect for racing. All our gang were in the 800m races. Ella Mae Cromie ran her first individual race in a long time and was a very impressive 3rd in the C race. Emily Murphy was equally impressive in the B race coming 2nd in a new personal best time. Ellen Byrne ran a personal best in her 800 with Aoife Corr not far behind. In the A race Niamh Donnelly was a very good 2nd, Clare Brennan near her pb in 3rd, Aoife ni Bhroin close to her pb and good running too from Cliona Murphy. Great running from all our athletes, great to see so many out racing.

Last Saturday Day 2 of the Leinster schools were held in Santry. Alison Burke had a fine run in the senior 400m hurdles adding a second silver medal of the week to the one she won on Day 1 in the 100m hurdles. Daire Finn came 5th in a very competitive senior 800m and later on in the day ran in the 1500m where tired legs caught up with him on the last lap. Emily Corcoran just narrowly missed 1m.68 in the inter high jump and finished 2nd. In Loughborough on Sunday Catherine McManus did a seasons best in her 200m and came 5th in a very competitive hurdles race. Well done to all.
