We had a brilliant weekend for the club at the Dublin Finals of the Community Games in Santry at the weekend and what a difference sunshine makes! On we won the overall best area trophy for the 11th time and in the process secured 8 individual gold medals and one relay gold, 5 individual silvers and 4 relay silvers, 6 individual bronze and 2 relay bronze.

Its takes a while for all the above to sink in, what a result. Well done to everyone. A big thank you to our super walks coaches Abbey and Sara Jane. Thank you to Hilary for all the co-ordinating and rounding up of the non club members to help make up our relay teams. Well done to those who were ‘ just stuck into events’ some for the first time, you wern’t afraid of the challenge. And lastly thanks to the parents who supported all the children. Great weekend.

Our under 12 girls relay team will compete in Tallaght this Friday night at the Dublin even age relay championships. Kacey, Antonia, Aontoinette and Alex will represent the club. Jane will be coach and team boss!
Congratulations to our super sprinters Catherine and Steffi who are on the Irish team for the European team championships in Crete this coming weekend. The team travel on Wednesday and return on Monday next. Good times!
