Our major fund raising day is Great Ireland Run day. Please keep the date free if you can. We will be done and dusted by 1 o clock at the latest so we won’t be tied up for the full day. We will need Mam’s, Dads, friends and anyone you can rope in for a few hours on the day. It’s a busy day but lots of help makes it easier.

Weekend indoor results update
We had a very busy weekend for our senior and juvenile athletes. In Athlone on Saturday Pierre broke the Irish University record for the 3000m with a fine win for NUIG. Alison Burke came 3rd in the hurdles for DCU. Emily Corcoran competed in the high jump despite feeling very under the weather and was well below her usual form. Edel ran for TUD in the 1500m finishing just off her seasons best. In Glasgow on Saturday Nadia competed in the 1000m race which is not run very often and she took nearly 2 seconds off the Irish senior record!!
Back in Abbottstown Sam made the final of the 200m under 19. Ian was unlucky to get lane 1in his heat and missed out on a place in the final. Goda and Jocelyn did great to qualify for the 600m final in a very competitive age group. Goda ran a well judged race finishing 3rd with Jocelyn coming 6th. In the shot putt under 12 Bruce o Brien had a great first Dublin championships winning his event.
In the 800m finals Oisin had one of his better outings giving his all for 4th and a place in Nationals. In the under 12 60m Martha repeated her gold from last year under 11 with a great run under 12 , Aimee moved up from 3rd last year to a fine silver under 13 this year, Bianca won her heat but missed out on a final place despite a very good run.
Day 4 started with the 400m where Ashley finished 4th in her race. The under 12 long jump was won by a delighted Alice in her first Dublin championship. Alice jumped 3m 86cm!.
Cliodhna Ryan worked very hard for her bronze medal in the 1500m under 16 likewise Clare o Connor for her bronze in the under 17. Joe was under the weather in his 1500 under 17 but can still.go to.nationals. Sean had an impressive win in the under 19 boys. Celine had a great battle over the last 100m to come a fine 2nd in the under 19 1500m running a very good time off a very slow first two laps with Sara not too far behind. Gillian was 2nd in the under 18 1500m snd Conor won his first individual medal coming 3rd in his 1500. Christopher had a very good run in his first indoor 1500m.
In his first Dublin long jump competition Craig Duffy jumped a PB of 6m 28 to win his first Dublin title. He also came a close 4th in the 60m final. Thank you to Sam for staying to the end to support Craig. Pearl made the semi of her sprints under 11. Well done to all. Thank you to everyone who brought their children and supported all weekend. Apologies if we omitted anyone.
